The semi-automatic synthesis system SAS was specially developed for the requirements of combinatorial synthesis in the solid phase.
The semi-automatische Synthese-System SAS
The centerpiece is the reaction block, which is produced in three standard variations:
96 positions for 2ml reactor,
60 positions for 5ml reactors and
40 positions for 10ml reactors.
The reaction block is temperature controlled, the reaktors are stirred with high power magnetic stirrers and kept under inert gas.
The temperature range lies between -60°C (-30°C depending in cooler type) and 150°C. The magnetic stirrers are lifted during stirring, preventing the resin particles from being ground up. Solvent and reagent vapors are retained by a condensation plate during heating. The cool down after high temperature reactions is accelerated by water cooling.
The simultaneous distribution of solvents and reagents is done through a dosing plate. The reactors are offered in two variations: polypropylene reactors with polyethylene frits and glass reactors with glass frits.
The reactors are emptied by vacuum into a 10 liter waste container.
The controller case houses a drawer for the control electronics with a 40 x 16 character LC display and six function keys. The function keys can be used for particular commands (FILL, REACT, EMPTY...) as well as the creation and execution of complex programs
The casing contains the valve systems for the inert gases, vacuum removal and the water cooling for the reaction block, the membrane pump and two digital syringe pumps for dosing the liquids.
The third part of the SAS is the transfer block. It is connected to the valve plate of the reaction block by Teflon tubes and allows the transfer of liquids from the reactor to a rack with reagent glasses.
